Terms of service

The rules for using CiteScope.

These terms apply to CiteScope, a code-only AI-search visibility monitoring product for solo B2B SaaS founders. By using CiteScope, you agree to these terms.

Service

What CiteScope provides.

Visibility reports

CiteScope monitors public AI-search outputs for your own brand and for competitors you specify. Reports may show mentions, cited sources, and recurring answer patterns.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping account access secure, for the accuracy of the brand and competitor inputs you provide, and for all activity under your account.

Changes

CiteScope may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including features, limits, provider coverage, and availability.

Customer duties

Do not submit regulated or sensitive data.

You represent and warrant that you will not submit protected health information, payment card data, bank account data, government identification numbers, passwords, secrets, children's data, or other regulated, sensitive, or high-risk personal data to CiteScope. You must only provide business information needed to monitor public AI-search outputs for your brand and the competitors you choose.

You will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CiteScope from any claim, loss, fine, cost, or expense arising from your breach of this prohibited-data representation, your misuse of the service, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

Ownership

IP stays with its owner.

Your inputs

You retain ownership of brand names, competitor names, prompts, and other information you provide. You give CiteScope the rights needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

CiteScope materials

CiteScope owns the product, software, designs, workflows, documentation, and service materials, excluding your inputs and third-party content.

Reports

You may use reports for your internal business decisions. CiteScope does not transfer ownership of provider responses, public sources, or third-party materials.

Disclaimers

CiteScope is provided AS IS.

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. CiteScope disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted operation.

CiteScope does not promise that any AI provider will mention, cite, rank, or describe your brand in a particular way. The service has no uptime guarantee, no service level agreement, and no promise that access will be error-free or continuous.

Risk allocation

Liability is limited.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CiteScope's total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the service or these terms is capped at the greater of $100 or the fees you paid to CiteScope in the 3 months preceding the claim.

CiteScope will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, goodwill, or reputational harm, even if CiteScope was advised of the possibility of those damages.

Any claim must be brought within 1 year of the event giving rise to it, or it is permanently barred to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Disputes

Individual binding arbitration applies.

Except where prohibited by law, disputes arising from or related to these terms or the service will be resolved by individual binding arbitration, not in court. The governing law is the law of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

You and CiteScope waive any right to bring or participate in a class action, collective action, private attorney general action, or other representative proceeding. Arbitration may proceed only on an individual basis.

Termination

Some terms continue after access ends.

You may stop using CiteScope at any time. CiteScope may suspend or terminate access for nonpayment, security risk, misuse, legal risk, or breach of these terms.

The liability, indemnity, arbitration, dispute, payment, confidentiality, and IP sections survive termination, along with any other terms that by their nature should survive.
